However, I suspect his real reason is to increase FB page views to boost his ad revenues, maybe prior to an IPO. Some of my clients have noticed that while FB ads work well they are limited in scope. I'd imagine some of the more aggressive FB investors wouldn't be prepared to stand for that perception to take hold, on the grounds of maintaining status quo privacy settings. Particularly while the prospect of Google-style profits remains a possibility...
